LOOK OF THE DAY: Getting baroque // Muy barroco

ENGLISH. On new eve everything goes, and what is better to recive the new year with a look entirely full of one of the latest trends in town, the baroque. Like I always say, life is too short to be minimalist, so bet on the saturation and get enchanted by the fabulous brocades, prints and textures this trend has to offer.

With anything more to say, there it is... deleitable brocades... risky combinations... perfect to impress... HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS 2011!!!

ESPAÑOL.En la  noche de año nuevo todo se vale, y que mejor para recibir el año, que un look colmado de una de las tendencias mas actuales, el barroco. Como siempre digo, la vida es demasiado corta para ser minimalista, asi que apuestale a la saturación, y encantate con los fabulosos brocados, estampados y texturas que te  ofrece esta tendencia.

Sin más que decir, aqui te dejo este look... brocados deleitables... combinaciones arriesgadas.... perfecto para impresionar... FELICES FIESTAS A TODOS Y PROSPERO 2011!

LOOK OF THE DAY: The sweater dress // El vestido sweater!

ENGLISH. We're in the ice time, and what is more confortable and practical than a good cozy sweater. This season, the sweater didn't come just to warm us at home, it came to dress us up in every single ocassion... any oportunity is good!

This is how many fashion houses shows us, like D&G and Cloé, that have fall in love with the sweater and have put it coctel parties, dates... and any time!

Here I'm gonna let you my trend interpretation! hope you like it!

ESPAÑOL.Estamos en el tiempo del frío, y que más cómodo y práctico que un buen sweater. Esta temporada el sweater no solo viene a calentarnos en casa, si no que se apega a todas y cada una de las ocaciones... cualquier oportunidad es buena!

Asi nos lo muestran varias casas de moda, como D&G y Cloè, quienes defienden a capa y espada el sweater, y lo colocan como prenda reina del invierno, vistiendote en cocteles, fiestas y cuanquier oportunidad... las opciones son infinitas.

Por aca te dejo mi interpretación de la tendencia... espero que te guste!.

LOOK OF THE DAY: Excentric vintage!! // Vintage excentrico!

 ENGLISH. Have you ever play with your grandma's athic? well yeah... this look is exactly about that... excentric vintage mix the eternal trend, the vintage, with glossy and ludic elements.

How to put it on?? it's about mixing, combining textures, materials and oposite patterns... thik fabric sweaters with sequined clothes. Floral prints with laced items. Everything goes here!

Complete your awesome look with a good pearl necklace or a cute vintage brooch, and if you dare, a fedora hat (very in trend by the way).

ESPAÑOL.Alguna vez asaltaste el diván de tu abuela y jugaste con lo que encontraste ahi? pues si... precisamente de eso se trata este look... excentric vintage mezcla la tendencia eterna, el vintage con elementos mucho más gloss y  mucho más llamativos.

Como lograrlo? se trata de mezclar, de combinar texturas, materiales y tramas opuestas... sweaters de punto grosso con lentejuelas... estampados florales con encaje... aqui todo cabe!

Remata tu look con un collar de perlas o un broche vintage, y, si te atreves con un (super en tendecia, por cierto) sombrero fedora.

ICY TIME! / TIEMPO DE HIELO!

ENGLISH. Anything is more characteristic of winter than white, and this season, it became the fetish color, taking entire outfits, and making you an ice godess.

Just for ladies. It's true, white gets dirty faster than other colors, and seriously, it looks very cheap when is dusty or stained. So I recommend you that if you are going to wear a total white look, you must be impecable and all the clothes very clean... no mistery stains please!

My advice? Play with textures! The fact that an outfit is in total white doesn't mean that it doesn't require imagination. Play with shapes, textures and materials. Mix jersey with more delicated fabrics. Use more texturized clothes with other more soft. Use laces, dropped clothes and heavy fabrics; the point is... have fun!

My warning?! Get away from shiny or plastic white shoes (specially boots). iuh!

Here I'm gonna let you an example of what you can reach!take the time to observe the different textures of it and... bet on the white!

ESPAÑOL.Nada más característico del invierno que el niveo blanco, y esta temporada, se convierte en el color fetiche, avarcando por completo a los looks, y convirtiéndote en una diosa de hielo.

Solo para ladies. Si bien es cierto, el blanco se ensucia con rapidez, y en serio, se ve muy poco favorecedor cuando tiene polvo o esta manchado.  Por esto te recomiendo que si vas a utilizar un total look en blanco, vayas lo más impecable posible y trata de que todas las prendas esten lo más limpias que se pueda... nada de manchas misteriosas!

Mi consejo? Juega con las texturas! Apesar de que un outfit sea completamente blanco, no quiere decir que no requiera de imaginación. Juega con las formas, las texturas y los materiales. Mezcla jersey  con telas más finas. Usa prendas texturizadas con otras más tersas. Lleva drapeados, encajes o transparencias; el punto es que te diviertas mezclando.

Mi advertencia. Alejate de los zapatos en charol o de plastico blanco. iuh!

Por aca te dejo un ejemplo de lo que puedes lograr! observa muy bien las diferentes texturas y materiales en el! y apostále al blanco!.

Look of the day: Black and... AQUAMARINE!! //look del día: Negro y.... TURQUESA!

ENGLISH. Aquamarine, one of the most fresh and calm colors, we love it on the sea... we love it on amatists, and now we're going to love it on our clothes.
The aquamarine will be definedly one of the fetish colors of the next spring/summer 2011, but well what the hell... I couldn't wait any more!! We'll see it on dresses, pants, blouses, skirts, shorts, and everything you could imagine, so here it is a little sneak in to the spring... but without leaving the fall/winter top trends. Light aquamarine skirt, black blouse, chained shoulder pads, lace tights and of course, a good pair of stilettos.

ESPAÑOL.Turquesa, uno de los colores mas frescos y tranquilizantes... lo amamos en el mar... lo amamos en las amatistas, y ahora también lo amaremos en nuestra ropa.

El turquesa o aguamarina será uno de los colores fetiche de la futura primavera/verano 2011, pero bueno que rayos... no me pude esperar!! Lo veremos en vestidos, pantalones, blusas, faldas, shorts, u y todo lo que puedas imaginar, asi que he aquí un adelanto de la primavera.... pero sin dejar de estar en tendencia otoño invierno. Falda turquesa light, blusa negra, hombreras con cadenas, medias de encaje y por supuesto, unos taconazos.

Dorky Glam!!

ENGLISH. Who doesn't remember those cozy sweters our lovely grnadmas used to gave us on Christmas and that we left always on the back of the closet??!! Yes!! They suprised us this season!! Those wool sweaters with rustic and festive prints are so IN this final season!! Labels like Zara or Next had came with more than one version, that definetly promess to mantain  us cozy and warm.

How to wear them to don't look like a mamma's girl? Don't dress from head to toe with this fabric/print, because you're gonna look like if you were from a christmas card.... choose one item, and combine it with lighter and sober ones.

ESPAÑOL.Quién no recuerda aquellos sweters tejidos que nuestras abuelas nos regalaban para las fiestas, y que se quedaban siempre en el fondo de nuestro closet??!! Pues si!! En este temporada nos tomaron por sorpresa!! Los sweters tejidos con motivos rústicos o festivos estan mega in en este fin de año! Firmas como Zara o como Next, dejan ver más de una prenda con este estilo, que promete llenarnos de calor en lo más intenso del invierno.

Pero como llevar esta prenda sin vernos como nenas de mamá?? No te vistas de pies a cabeza de este material/print, porque parecerás salida de una tarjeta de navidad. Combína la prenda elegida, con otras mucho más lisas, menos ásperas y más sobrias. :D

Militar coats + high knee boots!! // Abrigos militares + botas super altas!

ENGLISH. Helloooo winter!! doesn't matter if you live in a cold country like Canadá or if you live in a tropical country like me, winter is winter and it is definetly comming!. Of course for us the fashion lovers, winter is just an excuse to show our best outfits through snow or in my case through the chilly breeze.

Here it is one of my first looks for the winter!! Millitar style coats and the must haves of the season, the high knee boots!! ENJOY!!

ESPAÑOL. Holaaaaa Invierno!! no importa si vives en un país frío como Canadá o si vives en un país tropical como yo, invierno es invierno y definitivamente se acerca!. Porsupuesto, para nosotras las amantes de la moda, el invierno es una excusa más para mostrar nuestros mejores atuendos, ya sea a travez de la nieve, o en mi caso, a travez de la fría brisa.

Aquí esta uno de mis primeros looks para invierno!! Abrigos estilo militar y por supuesto las must haves de la temporada, las botas sobre la rodilla!! DISFRÚTALO!

Here it is an amazing outfit I made taking as a base a gorgeous pair of Burberry rain boots!! soo ENJOOOY!

ESPAÑOL. Hoy es particularmente un dia bastante lluvioso aqui en Costa Rica, y estoy segura de que las lluvias en estos días son algo a nivel mundial.
Aqui les dejo un outfit increible! Lo hice tomando como base un hermoso par de botas de lluvia de la marca Burberry! Disfrutalo!
